Security researcher Jacob Appelbaum revealed depressing details, about the National Security Agency’s spy programs, at a computer conference in Germany, when he presented previously unpublished NSA files.
“They would be able to break into this phone, almost certainly, and turn on the microphone,” Appelbaum said, “All without a court order, and that to me is really scary.” Indeed, classified files shown later during his presentation revealed a device, now known as a Stingray, that allows the NSA, another agency or group to construct a fake cell tower, to eavesdrop on texts and talks alike.

I don’t quite see it that way. Not getting the lnagike to chaos theory, but that aside, I don’t see it as being much different than what the likes of Google/Yahoo do with their huge datasets and related problems. It’s impressive to be sure, but by no means unique.If you have some time, there are lots of data science courses on Coursera.org. Taking one peels back at least one layer of the mystery behind all this. It’s a fascinating world with a lot of ongoing research.
